FILM & VIDEO

Shakespeare Video Competition

In December 2023, my school collaborated with the Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation in England to participate in their Shakespeare Film Festival—a cultural education initiative that encourages students to produce abridged Shakespeare films for national showcase.

Together with my Film and Photography Club, I directed and produced a modern adaptation of Hamlet, set in 1920s Denmark. In our version, the powerful Camorra mob family faces inner turmoil after the patriarch’s mysterious death. Hamlet’s mother soon marries his uncle Claudius, leaving him isolated in grief. When his friend Horatio reveals the appearance of his father’s ghost, Hamlet confronts the specter and learns of his uncle’s betrayal.

Our film received the Best Cinematography Award at the festival.
